The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) is one of Canada’s “Big Five” banks, headquartered at Commerce Court in Toronto, Ontario. Known for its bank number 010 and SWIFT code CIBCCATT, CIBC was founded through the merger of the Canadian Bank of Commerce (established in 1867) and the Imperial Bank of Canada (founded in 1873) on June 1, 1961, which remains the largest merger of chartered banks in Canadian history.
