The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), also known internationally as the Sydney Stock Exchange, is Australia’s leading securities exchange. It is operated by ASX Limited, a publicly traded Australian company. The ASX was formed on April 1, 1987, under Australian parliamentary legislation, through the merger of six state securities exchanges. In 2006, it merged with the Sydney Futures Exchange and adopted the name Australian Securities Exchange.

Currently, ASX boasts an average daily turnover of A$4.685 billion and a market capitalization of approximately A$1.9 trillion, positioning it among the world’s top 15 listed exchange groups.
