Hackers Hijack Saudi Law Conference’s X Account to Promote Fake ‘Official’ Memecoins
Cybercriminals compromised the official X account of the Saudi Law Conference, using it to impersonate Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and advertise fraudulent cryptocurrencies.
In a series of now-deleted posts, the attackers falsely linked the Saudi crown prince—who also serves as the country’s prime minister—to an “Official Saudi Arabia Memecoin” and a “FALCON Memecoin.” Each post included contract addresses meant to add credibility to the tokens.
The Saudi Law Conference, a significant legal gathering in the region, confirmed on LinkedIn that its X account had been breached. The organization distanced itself from the unauthorized content and warned users that the messages did not reflect its official stance.
“We are actively working to restore control of our account and take no responsibility for any misleading posts shared during this time,” the conference stated. “We apologize for any confusion and strongly urge followers to avoid interacting with any suspicious content until further notice.”
The breach comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Argentine President Javier Milei, who recently faced backlash for endorsing and later deleting a post about a controversial memecoin called Libra.
